We are a Public Ancillary Fund, registered as a charity, working to improve the connection between donors and charitable organizations. As a registered charity that uses a donor-advised fund model, we receive and disburse funds for charitable purposes, making it faster, safer and more cost-efficient for companies and their employees to give — and nonprofits to receive — donations.
Our Mission
We connect nonprofits in Australia with some of the world’s largest companies and their employees. By using technology to transform how charitable organizations receive funds, we free up their time and resources so they can focus on what matters — delivering community impact.
Who is The Trustee for the Australian Online Giving Foundation (AuOGF)?
We are a Public Ancillary Fund, registered as a charity, working to improve the connection between donors and charitable organisations. As a registered charity that uses a donor-advised fund model, we receive and disburse funds for charitable purposes, making it faster, safer and more cost-efficient for companies and their employees to give — and nonprofits to receive — donations.
AuOGF has partnered with Benevity, Inc., a for-profit Certified B Corporation that provides leading global corporate purpose software. The Benevity technology platform helps companies and their people make charitable donations in the most efficient way possible. AuOGF provides real-time tax receipting without applying donation thresholds or other restrictions that limit participation.
How are donations handled?
When people and companies donate to AuOGF (the Foundation), they advise the Foundation as to which charitable and nonprofit organisations in Australia should receive support from the donation. The Foundation then receives the donation and provides a tax receipt (if applicable), aggregates all funds received and sends them to the recipient organisations monthly.
Although your donation is to the Foundation and disbursements are within its discretion, your advice ordinarily results in a disbursement from the Foundation — along with funds from other donors — to the recommended organisation. In the unlikely event that donor advice will not or cannot be followed for a particular organisation (e.g., it no longer exists, is no longer a nonprofit, does not accept the donation), the Foundation will disburse the funds to a similar nonprofit organisation on your behalf.
How does AuOGF help charities in Australia?
AuOGF’s primary purpose is to raise, aggregate and send charitable donations to nonprofit organisations as efficiently as possible.
Our commitment to reducing costs
AuOGF is committed to reducing the costs of charitable giving by streamlining how donations are sent to charitable and nonprofit organisations. With a single aggregate monthly donation from AuOGF, these organisations are no longer required to perform manually intensive administrative tasks, generate and distribute tax receipts or verify individual donations manually.
Have you received funds from AuOGF?
You may be visiting this site because your organisation received a payment from AuOGF. This was made possible by employees or customers of companies recommending support for your organisation using the Benevity online platform.
We encourage you to complete your Cause Profile in the Benevity Causes Portal so you can increase your opportunity to connect with additional donors.
